SUP - STAND UP PADDLEBOARDS
Stand Up Paddleboarding is much easier than it looks! We have boards of all different sizes and stability. From our very wide and stable Fishing and Yoga boards (YES! You CAN do Yoga and fish from an SUP!), to our very sleek touring boards, Florida Paddlesports has the largest selection of high quality rental boards in SW Florida.
We rent high quality epoxy boards from C4 Waterman, and Ark Boards. For kids and beginners we offer “soft-top” boards by C4.
*A quick note on SUP
With an exception of the Native Versa Board, which we feel is more of a kayak than Paddleboard, we do not rent Poly (Plastic) SUPs. Part of the fun of Paddleboarding is the ability to sit, kneel, and stand up. The majority of an authentic SUP has a large pad over most of the board. This pad, not only provides grip to the board, but helps for comfort. In addition, the lightweight construction, identical to that of a high quality surfboard, provides light weight and great overall performance.
With the popularity of SUP, many companies are releasing low quality plastic boards with small pads for your feet only. The low quality boards are not only slow, and track poorly, but they do not offer the ability to lay, sit, and kneel comfortably on the board. This can be a real problem in windy conditions, and makes for an overall unpleasant experience. We realize that many customers will be trying SUP for the first time and believe that a plastic SUP will not give you the experience that makes SUP’ing such a great activity. Come and try one of our high quality epoxy SUPs and discover what all of the hype is REALLY about! We offer SUP instruction, tours, and fishing charters as well.
